Soundcraft SI 24 Compact questions

Hello together,

next sunday we will get for our area teen service/worship the Si 24 Compact.
Before we used the MIdas venice 320 with a big siderack. (not needed anymore yeahh)
I had the chance to play with that a little in a conference but i don't had the time to find the following out (because it was already installed and routed).

1. How could i send the main L/R signal addational trough a matrix output e.g. for the chillout area?

2. Is it possible to set the gain level at the start of preparing for all channels to 0 db? Because at the conference it was everytime at the maximum at the start.

3.. Is it common to use sub groups for mixing a band (like on the midas we used to have drums on a subgroup and the voices) or is this very old school?

Thanks a lot,
Martin

Have you presented these questions to the parties who sold, installed and configured the console?

The Left, Right and Mono main bus signals as well as the Aux bus signals can be mixed to a matrix bus. I believe the L/R/M signal require a second press of the MTX button to access them, this is covered on Page 61 in the V2 version of the manual.

You should be able to setup the mixer as desired and Store a snapshot Cue. Then you could call up the Cue List to select and Recall any stored Cue.

With digital consoles many of the buses are simply mix buses, how you configure them can determine if they function as an aux, subgroup, effects send, etc. On the Si Compact the mix buses referred to as Aux buses can also function like subgroups. As well as being assignable to the Matrix buses, any of the Aux buses can also be assigned to the Left, Right and/or Mono buses. If an Aux send is configured as post fader for all of the relevant channels and then assigned to the Left, Right and/or Mono buses, it can act much like a subgroup (but with independent level control for each channel).
