This, http://blog.svconline.com/briefingro...ital-consoles/, addresses list prices and availability while all the other info is now on Yamaha's site, http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/global...s/cl/index.jsp.

I want one...

I'd be a happy recipient if anyone wants to just donate one to someone else.

Looks great, but it just seems like a lot of $$ for a glorified M7. I'm excited to hear what they've done with the dynamics. Our friendly neighborhood yamaha house is supposed to have one in on demo by mid April. Said they'd call so I could come in and play too. I guess when you look at what they're offering It's about the same as the iLive t series with the fixed architecture rack, and the surface is probably a little more robust, closer to the big boy iLive or the profile. I'm anxious to see how it really performs and feels.

The new CL series are similar to the M7CL but then again alot of consoles are. The new CL line is a evolutionary step adding lots of bells and whistles that the industry has been adding to their consoles. Like Digital scrible strips, higher aux count, Higher channel count. The CL1 is capable of the largest M7 frame which was 48+4 the CL1 even adds 4 more stereo inputs. The CL5 goes up to 72+8. So dollar for dollar the new systems are about the same amount for a single console setup. It's when you add more consoles that the system becomes more financially pleasing. Once the street prices come out i think people will be happy where the price falls.

BTW if you have never been acquainted with any Rupert Neve equipment then get ready for a treat. Even the simulated Neve products sound fantastic.

Incase you didn't know this current move of Yamaha's is to create a global system built around Dante network. Inputs, outputs, consoles, processing, speakers(nexo), and recording all built around the Dante network protocol.
