Using a UDK is great idea during a play with multiple scenes, or if you have a scene set up for each song. I would not do it otherwise, as it's too easy to accidentally recall another scene in the middle of a service. It takes only a few seconds to recall "today's" scene by "the difficult method".

The ATB is not a live console. It is a recording console in the sonic tradition of the Trident 80B. The ATB is not a surface mount console. It is made the old fashion way, through hole, which adds to the cost. To keep the costs down they make them in China. ATBs have a cult following, and some minor issues. They can be modded with better components easily because of the construction.

RE: A upgrading from a Tascam to a digital. I would hope you would hear a big difference, because Tascam consoles have never been good on any scale. They are what they are, the blue collar alternative.

My point is that just because it is digital, does not mean it will sound better than analog. In fact, that is quite the opposite most of the time. There are big differences in digital consoles/systems, just like there are in analog.
