| Yamaha LS9 Studio Manager We use an LS9 at our church and I was wanting to set up studio manager on my laptop. I hear people say that you can set it up without having to be connected to the board, but haven't been able to figure it out. Any suggestions? I'm running on a Mac by the way, already have studio manager installed, just can't get it set up. |

| The LS9 and M7CL are windows only. You'll need to run VMWare Fussion or Parallels to run windows in emulation mode (or boot camp). You can't use the mac studio editor with the M7 or LS9. You need: - the Studio Manager, which you have - You also need the DME-N driver - And the LS9 editor All three can be found at yamaha's web site: http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/downlo...oft/index.html Your manual should have a walk through to set this up properly.

| LS9 SM2 on Macbook Pro, no problem! Hi I run an LS9:32 with ease through my Macbook First, you'll need to download the Network driver from Yamaha Pro Audio: yamahaproaudio.com/downloads/firm_soft/network_driver/network_midi.html once opened, (you'll find it in your System Preferences) select "Advanced settings". Check on your LS9's Setup pages the IP address of the console (ensure it is compatible with your mac's IP: ie: if your mac is 192.168.1.1, your LS9 should be 192.168.1.xxx (xxx being whatever IP is free on your network) ) This works if you're using either a CAT5 cable or a wireless router. On your Mac, in the Advanced Settings, set the IP address search perimeters, and click 'Start' This should 'find' the LS9 on the IP address you have set on the console. You can then give the Device (LS9) a name, this is handy if you will come across more than one Yamaha Console. Close the 'Network-Midi' screen, then open your SM2. Go to 'Preferences' in your SM7 menu screen, go to MIDI Settings, and update ports, this should show the console as per the name you've just given it. select these MIDI ports, then save (set as Default, apply, OK) Open your LS9 editor, at this point it will not connect to your console, so don't worry. Go to FILE, System setup, then select the input and output MIDI ports you've saved. Close the Editor, back to your menu screen, select Synchronise, then recall (allays recall from console to PC, that way you won't interrupt audio) Re open your editor, and lo and behold, you should be operating your LS9 remotely! You should only have to do this once, your Mac should connect automatically every time, unless you connect to another console, then you will just need to reset the MIDI ports Forget all that Bootcamp, windows nonsense! Mac will work, no problem, I even run mine on my iPad via remote desktop Best of luck Marc |
