Is the camera on battery power or plugged in?

If it's plugged in, see if you can make sure it's plugged into the same circuit as the rest of the audio equipment. Quite often this is a grounding (or earthing) problem.

Hi Nhlanhla,
Your video camera is the PD170 which is great. I can suggest a few things.
The first is the cheapest, try running your PD170 on batteries and see if the buzz goes away.

The second is to try connecting your pd170 power supply to the same circuit as
your audio mixer. You might have to run a very long power extension cord.

The third is to use this http://www.radialeng.com/di-twiniso.htm
This isolator will help remove the buzzing sound from your ground loop.
You can also use this isolator between your mixer and cd recorder.
There is a Distributor in Cape Town, S.A.

hi,
I'm actually in Singapore, just thought it would be more helpful for you if I recommended something that you might be able to find locally.

Also try turning the audio gain feature to off on your camcorder. So when ther is a pause or silent it don't automatically try to get a sound, which in tund produce a hum or fizz.
