Hello, I've made a few videos for our church services, these tend to be based on a song, typically a 'Christian' band - basically a music video. The video side of things is either animation made my myself, or a 'slide show' of photos without copyright... So the video side of things is original/non-copyright, but the audio is copyright. As I've spent hours on a video that is just play at our church once or twice, it would be good to share it with the community - but what's the best way to do this legally? -is it to upload the video without audio and note which music track the video should be played with?

Someone on here posted this site a couple weeks ago, check it out: http://www.copyrightsolver.com/VideoReadyLicense.aspx They provide a legal mechanism for you to get permission to add music to your videos. Its a very reasonable price. I don't believe however that you are allowed to sell or share the video, only for you to use in your church. Like you said, maybe if you posted it without audio, each person who wanted to use it could purchase the rights to the song and add it themselves.

bladeaudio - Thanks for the mention! I do want to clarify that the VIDEOready license that you are allowed to share the videos. You are actually allowed to sell them too, just not for commercial purposes. By "commercial purposes" I mean that the video was created by a for-profit organization with the intention of making money. Let me know if you have any questions about the license.
