What I've Learned in Self-publishing

A few things I've learned so far:

-Writing a book isn't as much work as you'd think -- a 1,500-1,800 word blog post a day for a month equals about 150 page book.
-The interior needs to be formatted. That's harder than you'd thing, but possible.
-You need a cover design. If you dabble in graphic arts, that's not as hard as it seems, but it needs to be done.
-Get an editor. You know the material too well to do it right. I found a cousin that proof-read papers in grad school and she did a great job.
-There are lots of self-publishing options out there. I'm using CreateSpace.com and they provide a ton of options and services.
-Once you've done something once, you know you can. I'm already planning on a new book. I know I wrote Podcasting Church, so I'm going to write another book soon.

Ask any questions you want. I know that there's someone else here who wants to write a book, but doesn't know how. I'm happy to help all I can.
