I just did a quick mode analysis with the given dimensions. 11.5' (3.5m) is a really low ceiling and the overall dimensions are not much larger than my living room and dining room combined.

Given the bulk of audible modes will be in the 99.3Hz to 103.5Hz area, the remainder below 60Hz, those frequencies "should" be taken care of by gypsum board.

In order to get a more comprehensive assessment (estimate) of higher frequencies for modes, I'll have to find my other spreadsheet.

any thoughts on the idea of applying a good bit of absorption to the stage area and around the main speakers while leaving the rest of the room live; to keep the amplified content from reverberating while allowing the congregation sound to reverb a little more - is this technique ever used or would it work
