Making Musical Instruments Out Of Vegetables

My wife came across this and I thought folks as warped as musician and sound techs here at CMN would get a serious amount of joy out of this:

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=heita3

This dude made instruments out of carrots, peppers, apples, broccoli, and much more. Some of them sounds pretty good (especially "Angels We Have Heart On High" using a broccoli ocarina).

They guys is pretty funny too and his commentary, while not in English, is also funny because of the inflections in his voice. You just know he's saying something funny.

I seriously enjoyed it! Hats off to this guy!

Enjoy!

Awesome.

Theoretically speaking [ahem] ripping that from YouTube, adding a reverse timer in a PinP would make for a great youth service countdown.

musical fruit

I have shakers in the forms of a banana, orange, plum, and a lemon.
The orange has the best sound and I throw out the lemon when we would sound bad! I just called them my "Fruits of the spirit"

That was very impressive, and again could be fun for youth.

In theory, how do you rip flash video (I know you can't just right click, and push save). Not that I would want to rip this....

I use a add on(fast video download) with FireFox that adds a download link below the video. Also if your intrepid enough you can go to your internet cache folder and find the video and add the .flv tag on the clip and then you would have it. You won't find the clip with the same name and it will usually be a jumble of letters and numbers but just look for the larger cache files and it will be amongst those. The cache technique can be used for any streaming video since their is no such thing a true streaming video. Of course the didn't want to call it Cached Video.

Just please, please, for the love of everything ever, don't try to put a YouTube video on a screen any bigger than, like, your hand. It will only end in tears.
