I've posted this elsewhere, but figured you might be interested in seeing the possibilities. I'm using a linux box connected via rs232 to a video routing switch. But you could pretty much hook it up to anything. It effectively turn your iphone/android/ipad into a device controller
I'd be glad to share the code on this for anyone who wants to implement this.
