Coming late to the question, but we had to replace the same AT mics for a whole bunch of reasons. After trying several different things we settled on cardioid boundary mics (those odd-looking flat pack ones) - total of four, one on either side of the choir mounted high on the wall (roughly U-shaped loft) correctly angled to pick up the back rows and the other two flopped on the floor evenly-spaced to get the front row. With a choir loft that was designed for aesthetics and not a choir, this worked for us with good stereo balance and excellent gain (for when only half the choir shows up). Your mileage may vary...
