The sennheiser 441 can be pretty good. If you're doing a recording and can mic them from far away(and have a good sounding room of course) I've had good experience micing brass groups with a pair of AKG 414's. I've also gotten some nice dark-sounding trombone using an Octava mc012 that i got a few years back - mic'ed at a distance of course. The octava's were cheap, but i don't think you can get them anymore, well new anyway. The sennheiser and AKG's were stuff that i had access to back in school, but not anymore... so at church, we use 57's.
