My grandmother tried to talk to me ONCE when I wanted to join the Mormon Church. I would not hear her. She dropped the subject, never mentioned it again. When my husband and I finally left the Mormon Church (16 years after that...) she rejoiced with us, and still, said nothing else.
2 years after she passed away, I found out from someone who attended church with her, that she'd prayed for me every day of those 16 years.
So there you are, that is my grandmother's testimony, left in an unlikely spot as she worships with the angel's at the Lord's throne today.
Since that moment, I am no longer a debater (apologetics is not my gift...) I am one who does more praying.
